List of Modifications to the Funding Announcement

Posted 11-6-09: The DOE SCGF application has been modified to allow applicants a choice of either uploading copies of official transcripts to the SCGF application or sending all transcripts directly to ORISE. Transcripts sent directly to ORISE must be postmarked no later than November 30, 2009.

Posted 11-6-09: The DOE SCGF application has been modified to make the following clarification about the minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA to be eligible to apply to the SCGF. The eligibility requirement is a GPA of “at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale.” Because academic institutions typically provide the GPA to two significant figures, a clarification to the SCGF GPA requirement to “at least a 3.30 on a 4.0 scale” has been made. This is not a change in program policy, but a clarification.

Posted 10-20-09: The DOE SCGF Application has been updated to include an Associate of Art degree as an option in the drop-drop down menu for degree type currently pursing or received in the Education Section of the application. “AA” now appears in the drop-down menu.

Posted 10-20-09: Updated FAQs have been posted on the DOE SCGF website.

Posted 10-07-09: There have been three minor modifications to the DOE SCGF Application. 1. Under the Education Section, Current Graduate Status (Page 5), “Equivalent to 12+ credits per semester” has been removed from the question, “Are you currently enrolled as a full-time student?”  This was an error. The number of credits considered full-time for graduate study is typically 9-12 credits, but this varies by academic institution. The full-time status will be verified with the requirements of the applicant’s graduate school.  2. A clarification has been added under the question on current GPA. The GPA inserted on this page should be reflected in your most recent academic transcript. 3. Under the Education Section, College Currently Attending or Most Recently Attended (Page 2), a clarification has been added. If you are currently an undergraduate, the GPA provided on this page should be the GPA on your most recent transcript.
