Eligibility
Who Should Apply:
Teachers in K-12 classrooms and community
college faculty of science, technology, engineering, or mathematics are
encouraged to apply. This is not a job. It is a
professional development opportunity intended to support the intellectual
and professional development of teachers who have a sincere desire to
contribute their expertise of and be involved in the advancement of
science, math, and technology education.
Applicant
Requirements:
- All applicants must be teaching full time in a public or private
elementary or secondary school and continue to be full time employees
of a school system throughout the duration of the program.
- Full-time science and mathematics faculty members at 2-year
community colleges are also eligible to apply.
- All applicants must have a current teaching assignment with at least
3/4 of classroom contact hours in science, mathematics, and/or
technology (applies to secondary school teachers and community college
instructors only).
- All applicants must be at least 21 years old at the time the
appointment starts.
- All applicants must be U.S. citizens at the time of application.
- All applicants must have current health insurance coverage. It
is the responsibility of each participant to secure insurance coverage
before arriving at the appointment site.
- All applicants must commit to a minimum of 3 years involvement in
the program.
