Financial Information

Housing allowances, transportation, and stipends are offered to participants at all the laboratories.

• Weekly stipend of $800.00 while at the lab.
• Round trip costs to travel to the lab provided for teachers who live more than 50 miles away (some restrictions apply).
• Housing onsite at the lab or funds for a housing allowance provided, when necessary (some restrictions apply).
• Funds available for mini-grants that allow ACTS teachers to purchase classroom materials and equipment.
• Funds available for ACTS teachers to attend and present at professional conferences.

Relocation Reimbursement

Transportation expenses are reimbursed for one round trip to the laboratory where you will complete your initial program. Depending on the laboratory’s policy, travel will usually be paid only for teachers whose permanent address is more than fifty miles away from the lab. Transportation expenses will be reimbursed on the basis of the most direct route. Travel by a private automobile will be reimbursed at the current government rate up to a maximum of $350.00 or the cost of the lowest commercial airfare, whichever is lower. Travel by air will be reimbursed at the cost of the lowest commercial airfare.
