INFORMATION ON LODGING AND TRANSPORTATION FOR SERCh
Student Competitors and Faculty Advisors: Rooms will be reserved for you in the SERCh block of rooms and direct billed to ORISE. Most students will be staying at the Comfort Inn (see Hotel List, below). DO NOT MAKE YOUR OWN RESERVATIONS!
Friends and Family Members: Only those officially attending the SERCh event will be badged for access to the Laboratory. We’re sorry but family members cannot be badged.
Judges, Attendees from DOE Laboratories, and Other Guests: Make your own hotel arrangements at any of the hotels listed below, but please do not specify the SERCh room block. The block of rooms is reserved only for faculty and students. In addition, please notify Terry Howard (terry.howard@orau.org) as soon as possible that you plan to attend.
In order to properly badge you for the event and include you in meal counts, transportation arrangements, and tours, we will need several pieces of information from you. Even if you already have a DOE badge, you must be badged specifically for the SERCh event! Once she hears from you that you plan to attend, Terry will send you a form to collect the following information:

Country of Citizenship
Arrival date and time at Knoxville Airport
Departure date and time from Knoxville Airport
Dietary restrictions (if any)

Choice of tour at ORNL – All guests, except judges, will be asked to select a first and a second choice from the list below. We will send you, by email, a description of the tours and a tour-selection form.

Transportation between Knoxville Airport and Oak Ridge: On Sunday, group transportation will be provided from the Knoxville Airport. Check this space for shuttle times. If you miss the shuttle or will arrive at an off hour, you will need to arrange your own transportation to Oak Ridge.

For your return trip, group transportation will be provided from ORNL to the airport for persons flying out on Monday afternoon, and from your hotel to the airport if you need to fly out on Tuesday morning rather than Monday afternoon.
Transportation from Hotels to Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL): All events for SERCh will be held at ORNL. Transportation to ORNL will depart from the hotels listed above according to the published schedule. Private vehicles are permitted ORNL access, but parking may be a problem. If you are not staying at a hotel on the above list and you want transportation to and from ORNL, we can accommodate you if you let us know! Then, we’ll tell you which bus can accommodate you and where to meet it.
