SERCh EVENT
INFORMATION
FOR STUDENTS,
FACULTY, JUDGES, AND OTHER ATTENDEES
PRE-REGISTRATION – REQUIRED
Judges and all other attendees: Judges, attendees
from other DOE laboratories, and others must notify
us of your planned attendance so that we can arrange
meals, badging, and transportation to and from airports,
hotels, and ORNL. Please complete and fax the SERCh
Travel Form to Terry Howard (865-574-4528).
Undergraduate contestants and faculty advisors: We
currently have all information needed for undergraduates contestants
and their faculty advisors.
ARRIVAL TIMES
Undergraduate Contestants, Faculty, Judges, and
Others Who Are Traveling by Air: Transportation
from the Knoxville airport (special instructions for ORNL Judges), will
be arranged for you. See the section on Transportation
below.
Undergraduate Contestants, Faculty, Judges (special
instructions for ORNL Judges follow), and Others Who
Are Traveling by Car: Plan to arrive at
hotel no later than 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November
9.
ORNL Judges: Judges who are badged employees
of ORNL should plan to arrive at ORNL by 4:15 on Sunday,
November 9.
High School Teachers and Students: Must arrive
at Oak Ridge National Laboratory no later than 8:15
a.m. on Monday, November 10.
ON-SITE REGISTRATION TIMES AND LOCATIONS
For Undergraduates: 1:00-3:45 p.m., Sunday,
November 9, Doubletree Hotel and the Comfort Inn.
For Faculty Advisors, Judges, and Others: 1:00-4:30
p.m., Sunday, November 9, Doubletree Hotel and the Comfort
Inn.
ORNL Judges: 4:30-5:00 p.m., Sunday, November
9, ORNL Conference Center,
Building 5200.
For High School Teachers and Students: 8:30
a.m., Monday, November 10, ORNL Conference Center,
Building 5200.
ATTIRE, ALL PARTICPANTS AND ATTENDEES: Sunday,
casual; Monday, business casual.
PROGRAM END TIME
The SERCh program will conclude promptly at 4 p.m.
on Monday, November 10.

TRANSPORTATION
For Undergraduates, Faculty Advisors, Judges, and
Others
No private cars will be allowed on site at Oak Ridge
National Laboratory (ORNL) unless they contain only
individuals that are either DOE-badged or
ORNL-badged. For others,
bus transportation will be provided from the airport
to hotel, hotel to ORNL, and from ORNL to the hotels
and airport.
Sunday, November 9
Buses will leave from the Doubletree and the Comfort
Inn on Sunday afternoon according to the following schedule:
For Students: 3:45 p.m.
For Faculty Advisors, Judges and Others: 4:30
p.m.
Monday, November 10
Buses will leave from the Doubletree and the Comfort
Inn on Monday morning at 7:00 a.m. for all groups.
High School Teachers and Students: Schedule
to arrive at the ORNL Conference Center at 8:45 a.m.
